Is it possible to have opera not ask if I would like to allow it access a low level internet connection every time I use it? Not a huge deal since I leave it running in the background half the time. But would be nice if its something I can turn off

Same here, and all my permissions are set to allow.

When I did this I had problems with at least 2 apps. One was ITookThisOnMyPhone which uploads pictures and videos automatically to a website.

The error is "...has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy." Since I don't have an IT policy, I guess the firewall is the IT policy.

Can't remember the other program but it was something that automatically accesses the data connection. I seem to have removed it since I tried this last time.

Another program I had a problem with was WeatherBug Direct, and I received that same error message.

Yeah, turning on the firewall is more of an annoyance than just accepting the Opera connection request! I just leave Opera running all the time in the background to avoid having to click it every time.

That may drain your battery life a bit.
