BBSmart Alarms Pro is fantastic. Although I'm pissed the BB didnt come with this functionality out of the box, it has saved my life many times. You have to get it when it's on sale though. And yes, this does qualify as a "cool" app to me

XBerry Live, allows me to check who is on Xbox Live without me having to turn on my console or go to Xbox's cheesy website.

Another is Nobex Radio - not bad.

I can't live without Live Search, JiveTalk, and BBWeather.

I just started using JabpLite and like it a lot so far. Also I have to add in my kudos for Viigo, very handy for staying current on news etc.

Default Yahoo Go

The Yahoo app is really cool, and rotates in a carousel fashion. I just loaded it up yesterday and customized it to my tastes.

regarding google mail: I just set it up as a personal email account on my phone and don't go to the browser for it at all.

Live Search from Microsoft is pretty cool too. I use it all the time.
kjjb: how do you customize which RSS feeds you get? also, what RSS feeds do you use? i've just been sticking with the default all this time, so i'm very glad to hear i can expand my horizons!

Surely there must be some apps out there that you just thought "whow" when you found them?

Let me/us know!
My favorite thus far is SocialScope. I love the ease of use, and the fact that I can update Twitter and Facebook at the same time is nice too

You just go to the website from your pc - myviigo.com, login, and click on "add web feed" and you can enter the url for any feed you want. It pushes the new feed to your bb within about 10 minutes. I don't use any of the defaults - here's mine:

blackberrynews.com
informationweek
redsox feed from mlb
boy genius report
cnet news
cnn
engadget
espn
gizmodo
mlb news
national geographic news
nfl
nyt home page
pc world news
reuters
scientific american
the register
wired
forbes
crn (computer reseller news)
money

There's probably an easier way, but I just go the webpage I want to subscribe to, and there's usually an RSS logo in the web address bar (in firefox), then I add that rss to my desktop firefox bookmarks, then click properties on the bookmark, copy the rss url and paste it into the myviigo site.

For entertainment, Viigo is killer.

For productivity, the REXwireless suite of apps has no equal.

I second that. If you are looking for a mobile bible then Youversion is the best.

Is there an appliation for Blackberry that will comparison shop for certain items and tell you what store, online and brick & morter, has the best price? Saw an ad for Iphone, I think, that has this. That would be really cool to have.

Thanks for sharing kkjb. I've just upgraded to my 8300 and I've going to check these out. My phone is still a newbie I haven't taken anything off or loaded anything on. I'm going to be busy this weekend.

wasn't there a t-mobile commercial about the G1 with google that showed someone scanning a barcode and then displaying the cheapest prices for that item found online? that would be sick

I've starting using the Curve as an mp3 player pretty heavily as I've been doing a lot of driving lately, therefore I nominate Flipside. It's pretty, and very user-friendly, easy to pause/play/skip tracks/etc without looking at the phone or at most a quick glance. In fact, I've dedicated one of my convenience keys to it.

Plus, this thread is about the 'cool' factor, and whipping through the album art definitely makes one go 'cooool...'
