They talk about autofocus so I don't think this is meant for the bold.

yup, 8900 has autofocus, and works damn good to... not sure if that is a software thing or hardware thing, but you never know the other BBs may get the autofocus too if its a software issue

Autofocus is definately not a software but a hardware feature.

It wouldn't hurt to include the software updates for things like chroma, etc. It annoys me that the 'flagship' BB has a shittier camera than the 8900. Even the so called flash LED on mine is weaker than a Pearl 8120's.

it might actually be. i know the image stabilization is software and our team was having the discussion if the auto focus was software as well. if i remember correctly, someone said the auto focus in the 8900 is software dependent.

i could be wrong tho

If that was the case than all camera phones would have autofocus.

lol. why?

just because it is possible?

in the end, it's all software. Just a matter if the lens is focused to infinity, or it can be focused closer (that's the hardware part).

See so it is hardware. You cannot make a fixed focus camera phone into a autofocus with just software. Period.

I was saying that it is also software dependent, just like it is hardware.
