I finally made the jump to the dark side, iPhone 3g. It makes the BlackBerry look sick. Great Apps, updated OS, better screen, better interface----See you guys, its been fun .

Enjoy it! I actually did the opposite and went from 3g to BB. Great phone but I'm loving BB and think I'm hooked!

Enjoy your iPhone. Until they fix several deal breakers, I would not consider the iPhone. Can't copy and paste, can't run multiple apps at the same time, can't type emails in landscape mode, no user replaceable battery, no mini sd card slot. There are definitely things that are really great about the iPhone, but I really love my BB and would miss those things if I switched. Of course, also not sure I would ever leave Verizon, so that sort of makes my decision easier.

I have had an iPhone, and it was not 3G. I probably wouldn't go back. I love my BB, and as mentioned above by kjjb, several things would need to be fixed first.

Enjoy yours though!!

Default iPod Touch to scratch my Apple itch

I thought seriously about jumping ship too at upgrade time, but went with a Curve and an iPod Touch instead.

I couldn't bring myself to commit fully to the iPhone because of the non-user-replaceable battery. In my mind, anything that one uses as a phone should allow the user to easily swap batteries.

Enjoy your new iPhone!

There are still way too many flaws on the iPhone for me, and I'm a real Mac guy in all other respects. The biggest, and the one that makes the iPhone an immediate non-starter for me, is that virtual keyboard. Nope, I don't like it. Can't use it without a metric assload of typos. Maybe if they made the keyboard function in landscape mode like the Blackberry Storm it would alleviate much of the typo issue.

Another is lack of MMS. Today my son sent me some pics from his flip phone direct to my Bold. That's something I'd never get if I had an iPhone because my son's phone doesn't have email. So when he sends me a picture and types, "Dad, look at this!", I want to be able to get it.

I use copy/paste constantly, almost every day. It's just part of how I work. I copy paragraphs from emails and send them on as part of new mail. I also copy from email and use it to create notes. Great for Idea Matrix, an app I simply cannot live without.

Ever since Apple upgraded .Mac to MobileMe they have supported the IDLE command and mail is now instant push, even to my BB Bold. That was the one thing that made me even consider (for half a second) getting an iPhone. My main email account is my .Mac account and getting it every 15 minutes was livable but far from ideal. When good old Stevie gave me instant push .Mac email on my Blackberry he took away that last reason to consider his toy. But that's just me. Everybody has to pick the right device for the way he works. My issues may not be your issues. So be it. For what the iPhone does it is one slick piece of kit. Nobody beats Apple at blending form and function. My wife enjoys her iPhone, but then she's not into serious communication. The iPod features are far more important to her than email. So you use what fills the bill best for your particular circumstances. Enjoy!

Hey, you have fun with that!!!
I just returned my iPhone 3G today! I went back to my trusty old curve! It sucks when it comes to push email! Oh, yeah, I forgot, I hope you like to carry your phone charger with you ALL the time! The battery sucks on the iphone 3g. Yeah the 3g is nice, and some things it does do awesome, but, the IMPORTANT things, it sucks at!! I'm sticking with BB!!
oh yeah the iphone has the youtube app! awesome!! I really want to sit around all day and watch youtube all day and wait 5 hours for my emails to come through!! And, basically, have it on a charger about every hour, since the battery sucks!! So, you enjoy.

I personally, am not married to any device. I owned an iphone, I liked it. I've owned 7130, which I hated, a 8830 which was good and a Curve which is great. I could go back to iphone again if several things were addressed. Who knows.
