i noticed if your phone lags, you may have to hover your finger on the answer key a little longer and hit the key. Maybe it just needed time to catch up... anyhow, hopefully getting rid of VZ navigator and the documents to go will clear it up a bit for you.

I have this same problem when answering and ending the call. Hopefully the OS update will help.

UPDATE:

before picking up a call on your phone. . .Change to vertical mode then hit the hard answer key. .. if you try to answer the phone and turn it at the same time that's where all the issues come about.

For me the softkey work well, the hard key takes 2 or 3 presses. Did they test these things?

I'm beginning to think not. I have the same issue and just thought it was something I was doing. I hit the crap out of both the hard key and the screen key to just get it to answer the phone. I have never gotten the screen button to work. I just hit it out of frustration. There is definately a quality control issue on these phones. We have 3 at work and each works differently. Mine feels the fastest, my supervisors is dog slow with the same settings and his clicks hard. It's wierd. I am slightly considering going back to Alltel.
