Hi Steve, welcome to blackberry and welcome to bbforums!

RIM provides some specs for media card sizes:
Supported microSD media card sizes

Also, media cards above 2GB are normally referred to as microSDHC.

As for the price of that 2GB, I'd say that's a bit steep.

I'm not sure what the largest size card you can put in the 8310 is, but you can certainly get a better price than $39.95 for a 2gb card.

I think my card is an 8 gb and I got mine at Staples or Office Max for under $20.

To find your OS version:

go to Options > About
at the third line of info you'll see: v4.x

I'm running v4.5.0.52

Amazon has an 8gb Sandisc Micro SD for $33.00.
Can't go wrong there!

Check it out:

Yes. But all those stores you listed are very expensive to buy from, lots of links in this thread to buy from much cheaper.

I saw this a few days ago, 8gb microsdhc for only $17 (free shipping too) @ newegg. You're not going to find a better price than this at any brick and morter retailer like best buy or staples. My suggestion is to order from the web, wait 3-5 days and you'll be saving some extra $$$

here is the link to the deal: Newegg.com - Transcend 8GB Micro SDHC Flash Card Model TS8GUSDHC6 - Flash Memory

compusa.com had a 4 gig for 9 bucks the other day. if you live in Fla or Texas I think they still have retail stores but otherwise the shipping is fast and the products are great. I think they have the best prices I have found so far.
