I'm currently syncing my calendar and contacts using Outlook. What I'd really like is to finally be able to detach my BlackBerry from my PC's (2), similar to BES users. I know about Google Sync for calendar, but is there a free OTA solution for syncing contacts for BIS users?

Is BlackBerry considering adding OTA calendar and contact sync for BIS users? It would be a tremendous value addition to their service. It just doesn't seem like it would be a big effort for them to add this, considering their recent successes.

Not currently, it is not possible via BIS.

A new product, BlackBerry Unite, has been announced but not released that would allow personal and companies to have that ability.

There's a 3rd-party product in Beta that will allow this (BBerysync) - OTA contacts, calendar, tasks, and notes.

Reviving an old thread. Google Sync will now synchronize contacts between Gmail and BlackBerry.

Funambol is free and will sync all your PIM data. I use it as an OTA backup for contacts and tasks.

Has anyone been able to successfully sync their Gmail contacts? Mine gets about halfway and then says sync failed. It syncs the calendar just fine as usual.

I have successfully sync'd all of my contacts.
