Default Accelerometer Lag

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I just received my Storm today and first impressions are good. My only problem has been with the software not installing on my machine, and seeing as I ended up here for the solution I thought I'd register.

I noticed a few queries here regarding accelerometer lag when re-orienting the device. After tilting the thing around I guess there is about a delay of a second. It does seem to take marginally longer when trying after 'waking the phone up'.

I've not had the phone long enough to report niggles with it. So far though I'm impressed with the screen resolution and the virtual keyboard (though it has taken me a while to train to, being 38 and all that!)

Regards,
Diablo42

Unlike most aspects of the BlackBerry I can't see any settings for the Accelerometer. With almost everything else, from swipe sensitivity to touch hover, there are adjustments.

I'm basing my comments on the Simulator supplied with the 4.7 Beta. They do supply an Accelerometer API so maybe there could be adjustment, but as yet the API documentation is incomplete.

my BB storm from Vodafone UK is showing Vodafone BB storm 9500 shows in the options and about..

Blackberry 9500 smartphone (3G) v4.7.0.65 (platform 4.0.0.76)

Is the the fixed lag version? as if so it's really not fixed it. it's awful! 1 - 2 seconds delay and some times your holding in your hand typing and it goes into landscape mode! annoying!!!!

@Diablo42: What version of the OS came pre-loaded? I haven't been able to find anywhere where someone has posted what's coming from Verizon on these things. Just a lot of speculation. Trying to correllate the lag with the OS version.

I just got back from a Verizon Wireless store just to check out the Storm and I was not really impressed on the OS, laggy. It was running the .61 version, for those who are wanting to get this device just wait until the kinks get fixed.
