Default Help - My predicament... :) Calling all VZW Reps!

Please Login to Remove!

So I'm going to be picking up a Storm next week.

However I just upgraded to my Curve this past May. And so I'm not eligible for an upgrade until Jan of 2010!

Now... I've read of some people getting their eligibility dates moved up, etc by some CS reps... but I've had no luck at all.

The 3 customer service reps I've talked to have said that they could possibly allow me an early upgrade if I was within a year of the Jan 2010 date... but as of now... it looks like I'd have to pay retail for the Storm.

Can any of the VZW employees on here help me out? I've been a VZW customer for 8+ years... have always had the newest phone (no different than most others on here!).

Please let me know if anyone's able to help me get this Storm for close to the 2-year agreement price... and I'll get you a Christmas present!

Thanks in advance

Add another line. It's not that expensive.

You would have to get a super cheap phone to replace on your current line on the Curve if you added a line. VZW requires a bb data plan for any bb on their service, so if you just added a line, you would be paying for two data plans if you kept the curve on the service. Once you get your storm with the new 2yr contract price for a new line of service, call vzw to swap phone #'s so your new storm has your current phone #, then get a super cheap phone and replace the curve so you don't have to pay for two bb data plans.

Bumping up an upgrade date by that much is not going to be possible. One option available to you is our lost/stolen program which allows you to get a new device at the one year pricing. One caveat of this is that your old phone can never be used again because it is added to the lost/stolen list.

Does anyone know what the one year price is yet? I have only seen the two year price.

There is no 1yr price. Only 2yr or full price.

So you're saying if a new Verizon customer wanted this phone they would have to sign up for two years or go month to month?

I find it hard to believe they would not offer a one year contract price like they do for everey single one of their other phones.

How could you suggest to claim it lost or stolen?! It's one thing to use the "elasticity clause" of VZW employees, but to suggest to lie!!

I don't find it that hard to believe. It's an exclusive and the internet is excited about it. Why not get as much money out of it as you can? That's just smart business.

If anything, you could always call Verizon and ask them about it (though we all know how reliable that information has the potential to be).

So when you add a line, what do you pay monthly for the extra phone if its a dumb phone? And how long afterwards do you have to wait to cancel? And once you cancel, if you have switched the original number to the Storm, can you keep it? Also, when you add a line, what info do they need? Someone else's persona info?

Wirelessly posted

9.99 for an extra line on a family plan. No matter what line you cancel, if you're still in the contract period on that line, you'll pay the penalty.
