Anyone notice after installing .185 the GPS is "Remotely disabled for Location Tracking"?

I did this upgrade last night. I was amazed at how much more free memory I had right off the bat. It was at 47MB a few minutes ago and when I popped the battery back in I lost half the icons. Weird. OK. I restart it. Nope, still gone. I resend service books. Pull the battery again and all is back the way it was and I have 54MB free. Heh. Weird behavior, that, but it's all good now.
I fully charged the phone overnight after doing the upgrade so I guess I can test battery life on this compared to .167 xxx8211; I was getting about two days with the stock software.

I'm very happy with this build. 3G is way more consistent and as a result my batt life last way longer.

Cannot load 185
I've been trying to load 185 from the 167 that came with the ATT Bold. It is connected, I still have the white screen on the BB with the two icons and arrows, and the Desktop Manager is stuck on Task in Progress, loading application modules, loading module net_rim_cldc_cod. It's been at least an hour and nothing is happening. The BB was working fine before, and the computer is otherwise working fine, and I've done this operation in the past with a Curve multiple times. I am using 4.6 of the DM.
What should I do? Cancel, disconnect and start over? Let it keep trying for a while?
Thanks.

I am on 190, and the battery life seems vastly improved. I don't have any hard data, just perception. Is my mind playing tricks on me? Is this something I want to believe, or are others also noticing vast improvements?

Still need help in running an update. I have followed the process as described at the top of this discussion (numerous times).
1) Downloaded the program
2) Ran the program
3) Deleteted Vendor.xml
4) Pluged in the 9000
5) DTM asked if I want to update, indicate yes
6) DTM looks at the unit, the say's " no update is needed".
7) Go into options (on the unit), about, and still shows v4.6.0.167
What am I doing wrong?
BTW, now, there is no vendor.xml in the apploader folder. before, it just got rplaced by a shadow file.

Hmmnn I am also a newbie so please don't believe everything I say ![Embarassed](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/icon_redface.gif) but why don't you uninstall the OS upgrade (control panel > Add or Remove programs) , restart your PC and install again , go into your C drive and do the whole thing all over again ?? I have never had any issue while trying to upgrade , and I upgraded my first BB a couple of times ( a Curve which I had for only a month and then switched to my Bold , which I have had since 09/17/08 )

That certainly would be a viable option. Like you, I haven't had a problem in the past, but for some reason, I am stuck with the .167, and it won't let go. ![Mad](http://www.blackberryforums.com/images/smilies/icon_mad.gif) I didn't really want to lose my settings and sw by doing a reinstall.

Are you sure it didn't upgrade the device OS? When you look at the Platform ID it will say 4.0.0.167 but the App Version is 4.6.0.185.

Again, can anyone confirm if streaming video works on .185? It wouldn't for me, but it does on .190. .190 seems quite a bit slower than .185.

Just installed 185
hi
Just installed 185 and no problems for 24hrs. Seems a lot faster and and not so many "freeze" moments. Also no more "java" fault messages. Not that I ever understood them.
So far so good!
