How do I change my Message List?
I've upgraded to 4.5.0.108 and love it!
But my message list contains my phone log along with emails, SMS text etc. How do I change it so that it no longer shows phone logs?
The Help screen for the Message List says to go to Menu\Options\Call Logging and change an option to hide call logging. But I don't have "Call Logging" in my Message List\Menu\Options screen.
Thanks,

I keep bricking my 8100 with these 4.5 releases. I did manage to upgrade to 4.3 from 4.2 though.

I can't get this phone to start the update. I downloaded the file from here and I installed it. It asked if I wanted to start the Desktop Manager at that time, I click yes with the phone plugged into the computer. It opens and nothing happens. This is my sisters 8100. When I updated my 8130, it started right up if I remember correctly. What the freak am I doing wrong?

OK, I updated mine, and here are my issues and observations. I am on Rogers, and had OS 4.2.1.94 before this. I noticed someone else on Rogers also upgraded, but didn't have any issues.
Overall, the new look and feel is very cool. What a major upgrade! Thanks for the OP for putting it up!
- When someone leaves a voice message, not only do you see the icon indicating a VM, but also an SMS is sent to you. Well, when I used to listen to the VM, the icon would disappear, and the SMS would also automatically get deleted. The SMS isn't going away anymore, and I need to now manually delete it. Is this b/c the previous OS was a Rogers one?
- Booting up after a battery pull used to only take 30 seconds or so (never really timed it as it didn't seem super long). Now it takes 3 minutes and I've done the battery pull maybe 5 times tonight since the OS install to see if it improves, but it hasn't.
- Took a long time the first few times I went into media or pictures (via Camera) so I reformatted the media card as it was suggested, and now have no music on it at all, and have only 4 pics on the BB itself, but it still takes like 30 seconds to load each picture?
Thanks!

In case anyone else is curious, this OS DOES include Spanish.
And yes, I'm quoting myself.

Things I noticed:
Good:
Voice Recorder: I used to have to go to "send voice note", then send it to myself, now there is a whole app just for it, and a place in the "media" section for storing the notes. Quite handy.
New suretype feature: clicking on one letter of a word will bring up a little option to switch letters if it picked the wrong one.
New calendar and Call log colors (not changeable).
L themes: Same as Zen theme and the lower bar theme combined
Disco ball app: new app only works on 4.5
Bad (for me, anyway):
New address book look: The address book creates a lot of space so you can only see 5 or 6 names at time, I liked being able to see about 20 or so to scroll through.
Sms: there's a big black dot next to the date and subject when you are viewing a single message that creates a space, so like the address book you can't see as many of the history messages as you used to.
T-zones changed: no "hide" option anymore, you have to go to "switch applications" then "home screen".

I'm in real need of help! I followed these instuctions down to the letter, but am having serious issues. I had an old version of DM so I downloaded the latest version. I downloaded the new 4.5 OS and removed the file, again in the order listed here. At first everytihg went fine, then the install stopped due to error. The phone showed 506 error, so like instrucged, I closed and re-opened the DM to start again. Now when I plug the Bb back in it reads 561. I did the Jl_cmder wipeout....but it does not help. I removed the latest verion of DM and just went to 4.2 with SP2, but it does the same thing. I have searched and search hoping to avoid posting this cry for help, but I am stuck. I have tried jsut about everything recomended that I can.....I'll be happy to give any more info if someone can make this paperweight work again!
After every atempt, I get some form of "could not connect" message. That, and it keeps asking for a password.

Status light problem
After upgrading to 4.5, the red LED is no longer functioning properly. It glows red most of the time, while in the past it would blink red when I had an unread email. Now, even if I mark all my messages as read, it continues to glow red. Any advice on how to revert to the previous behavior?
Thanks.

Milo, I answered your question in the other thread. Delete ColorPearl from your device and install Blingball that can be found in a sticky at the top of the 8100 forum.

All the filenames are pretty much standardized.
8100M..... means "MultiLanaguage" and would have Portugese.
8100EastAsia... means "East Asian Languages" and would not have Portugese
8100E....means "English" only.

upgraded an 8100 tonight. I get a long delay clicking on icons and get the hourglass routinely. I am going back to 4.2.x.x since this is the kids phone.
I did 4.5 on my 8130 & love it
