Default Desktop manager does not sync Exchange Mailbox folders

Please Login to Remove!

I am having a problem with Outlook sync using Desktop Manager in BIS mode, both with calendar and contact (address) folders (I have not tried tasks or memo/notes yet).

Folders that are located in a local Outlook PST sync fine (i.e. data in those folders gets transferred to the device)

Folders that are on Exchange (\\Mailbox - xxxxx\Calendar) do not sync (i.e. data in those folders does not get transferred to the device)

Configuration details:
  • Desktop manager 4.3.0.17 (but found same with 4.2.2 and 4.5)
  • Blackberry 8310 running 4.2.2.170
  • BIS
  • Outlook 11 (2003) with Offline replication (.ost) and Cached Exchange mode.

I do have two Outlook profiles but Desktop Mgr prompts me and shows me the correct folders for the profile I select.

Any ideas from all you BB experts?

I never mentioned email. Calendar and contacts are what I mentioned.

Ah, yes. I reread and I get it. You have to remap all the folders. There should be settings in DM to map to different folders. It's also possible you need DM installed for Redirector use. Honestly, I've not sync'd with anything but personal folders, so I may have to bow out and let someone else come by and help.

I experimented with various folder mappings, going back and forth between personal folders and Exchange folders. In doing so I found that it works fine with personal folders and never (for me) with Exchange folders.

I tried that and that (1) didn't solve this problem and (2) caused other problems, like removing my Browser icon from the device, for starters.
