I have the new bold and I am trying to log on to my wifi network at home. It finds the network, the WEP is correct, but it won't connect due to lack of IP address.

How do I solve this, I have a netgear router so its easy to get info from there.

the router will assign an IP to your device... have you updated to the latest firmware for the router? can you see the BB on your router?

The router will only give you an IP if you have that setting enabled.

You need DHCP enabled on your router.

Do you have the MAC address filtering function enabled on the router? If so, you will need to add the mac of your bb to the "allowed devices."

Cheers for the replys folks - this occurs at my work router, as well as home. Both routers are relatively new (less than 12 months old), and everything else connects fine (PS3, laptop, Itouch etc) - what is the problem with my bold??

On your home router, I would do a full factory reset and try to connect with no security enabled. For your company router, is that a basic soho router or an enterprise class router from Cisco, Nortel, someone like that?

Report back after you try the reset at home.
