Hi All. After an overnight charge of my Bold, the screen was white with no response from any keys. After I pulled out the battery and put it back in, it refused to swicth on.

I tried it a few times, but the same thing happens every time. The LED glows red for a few seconds, to confirm the battery has been put in, but nothing happens after that.

If I plug it in to the charger, again the LED glows red for a few seconds and then the white screen with the battery charging symbol shows up. And after some time, that too goes away and the LED keeps glowing red.

Is the phone dead? Or just the battery? Does anybody here have a sloution to this?

I did a search for dead handset on the forum and didn't find a single thread on it. I only found threads for 'dead loudspeaker' etc.. Has anybody ever faced a similar problem?

The last time I tinkered with the handset was over a week ago, when I upgraded the OS. It worked like a dream after that, and now this.

Pls help.

Might be able to wipe and reload OS

i'm also having a nightmare. Got my 8320 delivered to me today, got it out the box charged it but it keeps going back to an egg timer on the screen and a red light at the top is solid. I have installed the device manager and desktop manager and when the phone is connected to my laptop it works fine (have set up email and other settings and made calls no problem) but when I disconnect from my laptop it goes back to the turning off, turning on and then the egg timer. I went to the orange shop today and they reckon its a software fault (didnt sound like they knew too much about it) and they said to send it back.
Problem is, I got the phone from a 3rd party company who arent open till monday and as its my new toy i am hoping to fix myself and sort out.
I tried to dl the OS but it looks like i have the most recent one. Is there a reset i can try to sort this out.
HELP ME PLEASE! ITS SENDING ME MENTAL!!!

just charged it for a few hours without my sim and it now works. guess it was a dead battery.
