I'm running .77 as well. In what ways is it much better? Just curious, haven't noticed any differences here.

i guess the question is how does .77 differ from .56? I'm running .56 with no problems and would be a little concerned about .77 being beta.

Same here. Well I'm actually just about to install .56. I'm curious as to how different is it compared to .77. I figure ill give it a fighting chance, I can always upgrade to .77 :p here's hoping everything goes smoothly!

SHUT DOWN the device.
REMOVE the battery.
HOLD the power button in for 10 seconds (drains residual power)
REPLACE battery

this is the ONLY way to cleanly and safely reset your bb, allowing it to gracefully finish any operations that might be accessing vram and nvram. incidentally this exact procedure is ALSO used in KB articles on the bb site, but that old one with the missing step is still out there unfortunately

Don't worry about this guy. He seems to be a little high strung.

Now back to real deal. I have upgraded my OS to 4.5.0.77 from 4.5.0.66 and must say it runs very smooth. No issues to report (have my finger cross). Question: my docs to go which i registered from installing .66 versions, I've notice i don't have upgrade maintenance.
Even though i backed it up, i'm not able to reinstall it back in. Another option is i could re-download maintenance kit but it's telling me i have a number of free downloads. What should i do?

I don't know what you mean by "upgrade maintenence" but I think this is what you want:

Keep the latest DocsToGo version after an OS upgrade - BlackBerryFAQ

Downloaded .66 last night, have VZW 8330, running great. Have not noticed any problems, followed the directions posted by John in the first post and everything went smoothly. Only took about 25 minutes total. Upgrade from 4.3 so not that much difference, like the changes to camera and player. Limited use of Doc 2 Go sort of a bummer, but what do we expect for free. All in all very happy so far.

What's limited about Docs To Go? Did you register and get the free upgrade?

Yes I Did that, talking about how you can use the "new" feature without the "Premium Edition"

I can't seem to get this installed. I have followed the directions over and over to make sure I am doing it right. I am not getting prompted to install the upgrade.

The only thing out of the ordinary is that I use companionlink (3rd party) to sync Act! contacts to my address book. This automatically starts the sync process when I open DM.

Any suggestions?

Smile

Glad to report: after having .56 for a day I found, downloaded and updated .77 last night. I agree it is quite smooth, no problems so far, Opera Mini works (it didn't on my old 4.3 OS), and I now have documents to go, everything seems dandy :D
The only thing that really bugs me is that updating to a new OS erases all the Google Maps favorites so I've had to input them once again, the 3rd time in 2 days, hopefully I won't be changing my OS for quite some time now... here's hoping.

I won't post the link.. but I found a copy of 8330uAMEA_PBr4.5.0_rel101_PL3.2.0.51_A4.5.0.77 but it is only 68MB not the 72.84MB the version at the beginning of this thread lists.
Is this a legitimate copy? Did something get removed?
