This same thing happened to me when I upgraded to .52
I guess this version does not fix that... maybe there is no fix. Hmmm?
I'm eager to try this new version, but I have to imagine that T-mo has to have there's ready just around the block; and all things are great with this version, especially since the Bluetooth/UMA interference issue I was having is seemingly- totally fixed. Well see... Keep us up to date with anything else you notice of difference or improvment, if you would. Thanks-

This version is a bit underwhelming. Memory management is better but otherwise it doesn't seem as stable as .52. Mine started acting up after a few days. The reception seems to be a bit worse too. Anyways, should have known better since the beta forum didn't really like this version. Going back to .52.

I see how goldstar feels on the new OS, but what the general consensus (sp?) of .81? Worth upgrading from .52? Any new features and such?

The leaks are usually caused by 3rd party apps. I doubt any OS will ever "fix" this issue.

I installed this version on my 8320 yesterday and am now unable to receive email. The "Email Setup Application" is missing from my phone and when I go into the Desktop manager, it's grayed out. I've had my service books sent and re-sent. I think it's that it's not loaded on the phone and I can't figure out how to get it un-grayed. Is it because I'm on Tmobile and this isn't a Tmo version?

Thanks!
Brooke

Go to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table. Hit the menu key and select "Register Now."

I tried that, too. It seems as though the service books are getting hung up before they get to my phone for some reason. I went to BIS and sent myself the service books and never get a message on my phone. But it's so weird that everything else works perfectly (phone, internet, etc) and I can send email out, just not receive it.

I'm at home on UMA Wifi. Ran the diagnostic test, it says Radio access: GPRS. Connected to Blackberry and has my email addresses listed, but says they're not connected.

Try turning off wifi and just use EDGE. Also, try doing a battery pull. Where are you located? Theres a reported outage in the Minneapolis area.

Just switched from 4.2 - 4.5.0.81 .. this is one laggy OS.

Is there another version of 4.5 that isn't so laggy as 0.81?

*edit*
nevermind..

I've been using 4.5.0.52 for a couple weeks and it HAD been okay.
Might have been coincidence, but I used "Reconcile Now" and ever since then:
-the hourglass pops up every 2 seconds
-the battery drains incredibly quickly
-NO email reception
-UMA/GPRS otherwise work fine

I tried pulling the battery, deleting and re-adding my email account, re-registering, sending service books, everything. T-mobile BB help finally said they would forward me to RIM, but I ran out of time.

help?

I have T-mobile service and performed the upgrade. I've been using it for about a week without any problems. Seems to work almost exactly the same as the previous release.

The good and bads are in this thread. Read it and then decide if you want to do the upgrade.
