So, back to the main issue of this thread - who's got a bold in the US that's connected to ATT, and working?

Looks like the price for instant gratification is measured in more than just dollars.

I will be using it on T-Mobile here in the U.S. I will be posting impressions about it when it arrives either today or tomorrow. I will see if I can borrow a buddy's AT&T SIM Card and test it there as well.

Well said.. I will be paying for it by having a BlackBerry that can't be used as a BlackBerry for a few weeks. Oh well..

Not yet.. I'm just staring out my window waiting for the big yellow DHL van to pull up to drop it off. The wait is killing me.

Thanks for the info, but Canada has released the Bold. There is no U.S. carrier that has. So a device activated on a BIS here is different that Canada.

I'm going to order one this morning from Rogers Video. I called yesterday and they have a few of them, she even asked me if I wanted the black or burgundy back battery cover. I'm buying the unit with no service and they're going to ship it to me in the states. I'm waiting for the "shipping" guy (apparently the kid that actually knows how to do the shipping) to call me this morning to set it all up. I'm going to give them my FedEx number and have them ship it to me with Saturday delivery. The only problem is our friends over at GSM Phone Source that do the unlocking don't process orders over the weekend per their website, so I won't be able to report anything until next week. Can't use the AT&T SIM until that's done. I'll let you know then if the PIN is locked or not. Fingers crossed.

Update:

It's not going down. The woman at the store was an idiot, even after I asked specifically, "The BlackBerry Bold"! You're holding it in your hand right now correct? It was a Pearl. I'm done with it all. Waiting it out for AT&T.

"any bold you buy from anywhere in the world that you try to hook up to any united states
carrier will block the pin as soon as it tries to register to the blackberry
network in the usa. He said its in there system its automatic and the only
thing that can be done because he said they received about 100 calls in the
last week... Is the pin will be released once the bold itself is released in
the USA
This simply flat out isn't true at all. I have 5 bolds, (2 unbranded) and (3 branded att) that have been working for past 3 days. Nothing blocked. I did notice they shipped to me with the rim quincy code on there but I removed that and loaded a new OS from online before I ever even turned on the radio. So maybe they would use a quincy report to block or if they know of one of their prototypes but in no way is the quote above true as its written with any bold registering on a usa carrier. All mine registered on att.

The Rogers units unlock fine and the PIN works perfectly on AT&T.
