Default 4.5 and speakerphone

Please Login to Remove!

I just noticed that my speakerphone is not working. Don't know whether that happened with 4.5 or not.

Can anyone confirm that their speaker is working with 4.5?

Thanks,

I Searched the thread and didn't see anything on this topic...

Anyone have problems using Live Search with 4.5.0.75/4.5.0.52?

I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I keep getting a message saying

"The application live_search has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy."

I've used JL_Cmder to restore the device to factory settings. The phone had a blank IT policy once from this forum. From what I've read if you are using OS 4.5 and above and use restore to factory settings it should completely wipe any IT Policy on it.

Does the device have the blank policy or did you do the "resettofactory?"

Default What languages are included in the East Asian firmware version?

Hong Kong CSL has a 4.5 version listed as the East Asian version. Will it be Chinese, Japanese and Korean? I think English should be included right?
Thanks!

Look at the filename. If it has "East Asian" or "CJK" it will have the languages you want. English is included in ALL OS's.

It looks like HK CSL's version is 4.5.0.44. I really don't recommend anything earlier than 4.5.0.52. If you need the languages, it may work better for you, though.

I used resettofactory and the BB went through the whole process of wiping itself.

After it came back I only restored Address Book, Password Keeper, Calendar, and Messages from my previous back-up.

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

Have you EVER applied the blank policy? If so, it could still be on the computer and will apply to any BB you connect to the DM. You can tell by looking at your firewall and see if it has a small lock on it.

Damn, Firewall is enabled and there is a small red lock to the left of it :( I thought I removed the policy.bin file and deleted the registry entry though

I'll get to work on that. Thanks John Clark!

It must still be there somewhere. In the thread about removing the policy I mention to make sure it's all removed or any BB attached will get the policy. As a side note: I did create a new policy which allows the split pipe connection (inside/outside firewall business.)

after installing this latest os on my 8320 on tmobile my battery has died. not sure if its os related or due to a bad battery. after 20-30 minutes of use (messaging and opera browsing) the berry will shut off and will not turn back on until the battery is pulled. if the phone will restart, the battery life is at 15% or less and phone goes into radio off mode. this happening to anyone else?

Default Different?

Is there any real big difference between OS 4.3.1 for my curve that i am currently running and 8320 4.5.0.75/4.5.0.52?

I do notice the one i am running now does not save my costumized menu icon placement but thats not a big deal, the video recording works so that i am happy about.

So can anyone tell me if its the same OS just branded differently or a totaly new upgrade, thanks.

My buddy over at an undisclosed location and company sent me 4.5.0.69 and he tells me that its like the 4.3 i had on my blackberry but with performance tweaks. so i am upgrading to that version as we speak.

So that makes me bealive that 4.3 and 4.5 are the same but just different number branding. RIM has totally skipped 4.4 and i also heard that 4.6 and 4.7 are making Beta rounds.

So after the I wiped the ITPolicy completely and FINNALY... I am still having problems using Live Search with OS 4.5. I'm assuming it's OS 4.5 because I was able to use this application without problems in OS 4.2 even with the IT Policy on it.

- No ITPolicy on it (Firewall is disabled without a padlock icon).
- Application has been removed and reinstalled.
- When attempting to update it errors "Sorry, we can't download the applicaiton data. Please check your network connection.
- When adjusting the network configuration for Live Search you can select default, Direct HTTP, or BES/MDS. You can also check a box that says Use only WiFi interface.

I can use Live Search but only when I check the box that says Use only WiFi interface. This is not a solution for me since I can't use it on the go. :(

Anyone know of a Live Search tech support site?

Default Video Issues on 4.5

I just installed this update on my Tmo 8320 and I love the new features!!

I have been having major issues with video. I cannot playback, send, or save any of the videos I create.

I have tried reformatting my SD card and still nothing.

Any ideas?
