Default Disaster strikes! (replacing housing 8320)

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all, I dropped a coffee mug on my BB :( It's put a big crack on the screen, it's an 8320 and the only replacement housing I can find is

; i'll add it in in a second

Any ideas what size of torx I'll need to buy to get into it as well?

And finally, any recommendations on cases to prevent this again? I'm defo buying a screen protector, but what about crstal cases vs. silicons ones? I'm just concerned its going to get very bulky for the pocket.

Thanks

Did you break the screen or just the lens? If it's the lens, you can get a replacement from CNN.CN (link) for about $15 shipped to the US, and replace it in minutes. It's just attached to the front housing by strong double-sided tape. I have replace the lens on two 83xx devices in the past month or so.

Cheaper to replace and NO disassembly required.
