Default Blackberry Messenger Charges

Please Login to Remove!

Just a quick question (and I did not feel like waiting for my bill to arrive to verify this)...

Is there a charge incurred for using Blackberry Messenger?

Thanks.

It depends on your data plan. If you have a bandwidth limit on your data plan, and you go over that limit using BB Messenger, then you will be probably charged for the overage.

If you have an unlimited data plan, then your bill should not go up as a result of using BB messenger.

Doesn't PIN messaging still use your carrier's data plan? I can't imagine that PIN messaging would be immune. You're still using the carriers network to access RIM servers.
Theoretically, if you're not on an unlimited plan, you could be subject to overage charges by your carrier, no?

i believe it would use data from the carrier plan. it would only make sense, since it uses the carrier network as a transport to the RIM network.

Morons. No other browser platform supports such a thing as "file downloads"

Does anyone know where I can get this in an OTA download? Or some other non-IE5 method?

anyone know how much data is used when PINning then, now that we have determined that PINning actually does use some data going through the network?

I use BB messenger ALOT. should i be worried about racking up my data usage?

phil999 please let me know if PINning adds up fast...you should be able to tell when you get your bill?

the company pays for my bill and currently we do not have access to it...i would however like to keep data usage down to a minimum and use PIN as much as possible if it doesn't eat up too much data (company requirements)
