One thing you will have to remember is to install the software for the particular phone (i.e. 8300, 8310, 8320, 8330) I mistakenly installed the 8320 on my 8300 and everything worked fine except my camera. Each time I tried to open it the software locked the phone up and the only way out was a battery pull. So be sure you only install the latest software that applies to your phone.

Thought I would share this as I learned my lesson the hard way!! (seems I do that often.)

Wirelessly posted (BB 11020)

Its impossible to "accidentally" install an OS from another device. The 8320 OS will not install to an 8300 without hacking the software.

I am getting the same problem. My Calendar icon does not even appear. This is the first time this has happened to me. What is it that you do? When you say remove and re-add calendar entries how do you do that?
Thanks!

Hmmm....that is strange, because I install .183 on my Curve 8300 and it worked.

i'm always leery about loading software. especially, when everything is working satisfactory.

the only problem i have is that some reminders for my tasklist don't go off.

not sure if this new os will fix that or not, but i'll give it a try...

They have released it for four models. Check the 8800 section on this forum in the Sicky Notes, and you will find what you are looking for.

Software Platform: 2.5.0.44
File name: 8300M_PBr4.2.2_rel351_PL2.5.0.44_A4.2.2.194_TIM_It aly.exe

Click->>>https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...190CAAD5802983 and select "BlackBerry 8300 (TM)" from the list NOT the "BlackBerry Curve 8300 (TM)"

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8300:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed.
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

Welcome to the Forums.

What specific error did you get, and at what point in the process?
Please be specific.

Probably a stupid question, but why do they release a 4.3 version for all the other curves but are still stuck at 4.2 for the 8300. Just curious.

They haven't released a 4.3 version for "all the other Curves." 4.3 exists for the 8330 but that's it. 4.5 is being released shortly for all the 8xxx devices.
