In theory, yes. But it's rarely worked that way for me. In most cases after longer calls (>5 mins), WM doesnt seem to try to reconnect. If this app works better, then I'm all in.

Doesn't it *have* to kick a user off if the phone is on? My understanding is that EDGE service is disabled while the phone is on, and these IM clients need EDGE to stay connected.

I've had a couple conversations from Skype buddy to buddy, and to a landline. Both were good quality. About as good as the normal Skype, but with a bit more of a delay, so it did make it awkward....
