Default Answering calls on laptop via Bluetooth???

Please Login to Remove!

This is my first post so, Hello All! Has anyone ever used their laptop as a speakerphone to make and/or receive calls via Bluetooth/Blackberry? I have an employee with a 7250 who is always using the phone while working on his laptop. I am about to order a Jabra but looking for a quick and free solution this morning before he leaves town. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Probably not. When you synch the BB to another device, usually the capabilities usually show up on the device. I.E. Headset, Desktop Manager, etc....

I think it may be possible. When you pair a BB to Windows via Bluetooth dongle, the only service that is available is "Audio Gateway". I'm not sure if the laptop would use the BB as a headset or vice versa or both.

I like the word "possible". I don't have a BTooth dongle and the person who is needing this capability is busy on 2 phones and the laptop at the moment. I may have to make a quick trip to the store just to get equipment to test with. I would think this should work...I know a RAZR tethered to a laptop will work this way if you install the phone services software that comes with the phone. Anyone have enough equipment at hand to give it a try???

I have seen this on my laptop when I paired my 7130e to it. (Audio Gateway) Even if i pair them up, i cannot do anything besides BT PIM synching.

There's got to be something you can do with the Audio Gateway. I have a USB bluetooth dongle but my laptop doesn't have a microphone so I can't test this.

The audio gateway could be a future option not fully implemented yet!

I got it to work for about 15 minutes. Then for some reason it stopped working. I am currently trying to figure it out.

Audio Gateway works fine for me using a Nextel 7520. Very clean audio through laptop. When paired, it reports "waiting for the call". Nice feature if you have a good microphone...

I have also successfully done this with a 7520. There is one thing to note though.

NOT ALL Bluetooth drivers fully support the fuction of the audio gateway. There are some drivers out there that you can download to make it work, but you would have to search for them on the net.
