Default 8700G Battery Life

Please Login to Remove!

So I don't know if battery life is going to be any different between 8700 verisions but I figure I'd like to see what the average battery life is.

I just got 3 days outta mine with moderate to heavy use (text, light calls, lots of im/ email etc) and not to mention i took it to an area with a lack of service which I figure effected the life. I fully recharged it today so we'll see how long it goes this time...

I have a 8700c and that's about the same for me. I never took it out of service area and I did have BT on for some of my calls. I'm going to charge it up and leave BT on all the time and see how it goes.

Wirelessly posted (blackberry 8700g: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

That is also what I'm seeing. About 3 days. But when I go online such as here and other forums, it goes down pretty fast. I normally just charge nightly. I also have the 8700g with no BES.

Yea same here, I can't barely seem to get 2days outta my poor baby. I'm a heavy texter and HEAVEY web surfer. I don't use blueT nor do I chat as much as. I did with the sdk2. So I was thinking of investing in the battery upgrade. I also heard that the extra girth assists in typing on the keyboard.

I'm getting about 3 days out of mine. No BT use but heavy use of email and browsing and other random data transfers. Only use about 10mins of voice time a day though as I have a separate cell phone for voice calls and SMSs.

I could push 3.5 days I think but I don't think I could get to 4 days.

My colleague who has one of those Windows Smartphone thingy's can't get more than one day and I don't think he uses it as heavily as I do!!

cheers

I go crazy with mine, all day... I think that if I did not charge it every night, I could possible get to two days. This is with Bluetooth on all the time, also.

Signal strength makes an enormous difference. At the limits of range from the nearest tower a GSM phone will run its radio at up to 2W at best it will use 1/100 of that power. 2W is a lot to take from a small battery! So it depends on the signal strength where you spend much of your time...
