Default Need Help: Can't Add New Contacts

Please Login to Remove!

Greetings to the forum. I'm a new to the BB world and must say its the best phone I've had thus far. I bought the 9700 three months ago and I now realize I can't add new numbers to my contacts. For e:g, when I highlight a number and select add to contacts I don't get a submenu that allows me to go any further. Can someone please advise me, or do I have to return the phone.

Do a hard reset and then try again....... With the power on, remove the battery for at least 30 seconds.

Unfortunately that didn't work, I'm at wits end as to why this is happening.

Maybe the number is already in contacts and you don't realize it? I see on my 9700/5.0.0.714 that the add to contacts menu item only appears in cases where the phone log number is not already a contact.

Otherwise, I don't know for sure.... Do you have any other issues with your contacts? Can you open the contacts app and add and edit contacts ok?

These are numbers that are not in my contacts already, thanks for your help, if I dont get it solved soon I will take the phone back.

Have you added any Apps? Also are you on a corporate BES

Im at wits end. Is it possible to get my BB wiped and have the programs reinstalled?

If you are ready to go that step, try a security wipe first. Do a backup and then go to options, security, security wipe. Select the options to delete third party apps. Then test before you do anything else after the wipe is done.
