Question "Restrict identity" and *67 not working on my Curve?

Please Login to Remove!

I always had my outgoing calls show "private" until I went to T-Mobile -- apparently, their phones let you restrict ALL your calls (but you can"t use the *82 feature to unblock a call) or you have to turn off the restriction and then dial the *67 for a call where you want your number blocked. So, when I had my Pearl, I just dialed *67 whenever I wanted to block my #.

Well, I just made a *67 call today to a company (not an 800 number) to place an order and they knew my number without me telling them (I asked if they had caller ID and they said yes). So, I tried calling a friend on her cell phone with my number blocked (*67 and then also with the restriction on) and both times she said my number showed up.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks!

Click the green call button , go into options,, and there's an option to restrict identity, , you can turn it on and off, works like a charm

Thanks, but I need to have my number unblocked for the majority of my calls and *82 to unblock doesn't work in restricted mode so I just turn the restriction off and do the *67 thing for the few times I need to keep my number private.. So my problem is that *67 doesn't work.

Do you guys actually go into options each time you make a call to turn the restriction on or off?

T-Mobile does not use standard codes. To block your number for a call dial #31# followed by the number and make the call. So a phone number would look like this: #31#7145551212.

Thats all you need.

Okay, well I just tried this.. First I did *67 to my other cell, # came up blocked. I then did it normal and my Tmo # showed, then I tried the #31# and it again came up blocked.

I dont know why you *67 didn't work, it worked for me fine. And my call identity restriction is set to off, so i show up on peoples caller id..

weird

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/136)

This service is an option in the HLR (users profile database), this service need to be enabled to work. Try calling your carrier.

Thumbs up Thanks

Thanks everyone.

OK, so I tried them all out again this morning and the restrict identity option is now working. But when I have the phone off restriction, *67 doesn't work but the #31# does.

Thanks for your help.

Anyone have a list of these #xx# feature codes for the various carriers? I'm interested in Tmobz and AT&T mostly...

Thanks
