In fact, all of the quick keys that work on the 8800 are the same on the 8300 with the "dial from home screen" set to off:

- A = address book
- L = calendar
- F = Ringer tones
- B = bookmarks
- M = messages
- T = Tasks
- O = options
- K = puts in lock mode
- V = saved messages
- C = send message
- S = search
- W = Blackberry web browser
- R = Set alarm
- U = Calculator
- H = help
NICE!

Thanks very much for that gem...

How hard is it to click one time on the profile icon and click again on SILENT?

You might have to think ahead a little bit but it is just two clicks away.

And with your phone set this way you can just hit F,then N for normal or Q for quiet and hit space or enter. I know it's not as easy as a single key but works pretty quickly without having to touch the trackball etc.

Thanks for clarifying. I thought calling it Standby Mode was confusing, as I also wasn't sure if the phone was going to ring.

well, for me its, click to get the unlock menu, scroll up, hit enter, type in my password, hit enter, (depending on the theme) scroll to the profile, select, scroll to the new profile, hit enter.. (or menu to the icon list, scroll to profiles, select, scroll to the profile,enter)..

assuming I have re-used the quick keys, left defaults to profile.. I still have to unlock it
