Default Latest OS: 8110 4.5.0.174/4.5.0.124 (English + East Asian)

Please Login to Remove!

Software For BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8110 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.174 (EastAsia) from CSL

Contains English and East Asian Languages

This will work on ANY carrier's 8110 model--not for the 8100, not the 8120, not the 8130.

Package Version: 4.5.0.174
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.124
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.92
* File name: 8110EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel174_PL2.7.0.92_A4.5.0.124 _CSL.exe
* File size: 92.74MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...B42B2DBB8F27B6

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

sure, its a different carrier, but what is the actual difference?
That is for the 8120. This is for the 8110. That is the actual difference.

Just move or rename the DocsToGo.alx file in the installation directory and your docs to go will not be downgraded.

Ok I downloaded it and everything but I'm at a dead end right now trying to update the OS. The issue is that the device won't connect to the computer. It says that I may need to enter a device password. The issue is that I never set one. So there must be some other issue. I've never had any other problems hooking up my BlackBerry to the computer and installing applications or anything.

One more thing, what all is changed from 4.3 to 4.5. I just want to know if it's worth it to go through all this to update if it's just a minor thing.

Ok as a followup, I waited a day and plugged it back in and it worked.

So folks, any thoughts on this new OS? Downloading now just upgraded release 81 few days ago, just came on here to check it out and guess what new OS again lol. Oh well, time to upgrade!

Edit 1: this update seems to work OK with Vodafone NZ, however the desktop software not recommending this update, says 4.5.0.081 is recommended. ah well, let's run with this for a little while.

anyone else upgraded to this version? I am using desktop manager 4.7 and it keeps on telling me when I plug it in that 8110EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel81 is 'available for upgrade' I wish to upgrade my BB via PC (some missing old wallpaper etc), how do I remove this nag, so I can upload stuff using the desktop manager? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried uninstalling the actual upgrade from add/remove programs?

Unhappy Random reboots

I look forward to a newer version of this firmware. I've been running it for a couple of weeks and it reboots randomly almost every day. Sometimes, twice on a day.

Also, it lacks Portuguese. SureType without the appropriate language data is such a pain.

I have recently update to this, however, I cannot seem to unlock the vendor themes, as I previously had (deleted Vendor.xml, removed the vendor ID, etc). Is there something else that i can do to unlock the themes, or is this something that's not supported in the update?

Are you talking about debranding your device? There are ways and you can delete themes can't recall what the software is called
