I've got the Verizon 8330. I don't know how long it's been broken, but I discovered today that when I go to "Options" and click "About", virtually nothing happens. If anybody's got suggestions, I'm listening! Thanks in advance.

I will guess you reinstalled the OS and deleted voice dialing?

I did not reinstall the OS, but I did delete voice dialing, following the 'max memory' instructions in another thread. I'm guessing now that restoring voice dialing will fix it?

That is the cause. I am looking for the work around real quick. There is a shortcut you can use.

After reading the first response, I replaced two files which appeared to be the English Language files and two others I wasn't sure about:

net_rim_vad.cod
net_rim_vad_engine_resource__en_US.cod
net_rim_vad_resource.cod
net_rim_vad_resource__en.cod

It's working ... maybe will remove them again later and use the shortcut. Thanks to all for the assistance!

It won't hurt anything, it you just have to use the short cut. I don't know about O.S. 4.2, but with O.S. 4.3 you can just hold alt and type ACE. no need for the "E".

FWIW, this only works on full keyboard models. Won't work on a Pearl.
