I seriously doubt that it will end up costing that much.

The price will surely be subsidized with a contract.

Those prices quoted are the retail price at bestbuy. Not the contract price cost at a corporate store

I'd pay $300. Maybe. But hopefully mine will come from the home office!

I am with mriff. $299 maybe. It is also a new form of technology in some respects.

I'm not surprised since it's without a contract.

I don't see a big deal with a price this high - after all, it is a potential price for one thing. Next, there are large mark ups on phones at best buy. Look at the LG dare for example - it's $599.99 outright.

This is nothing to worry about. The Storm will not be more than $299 at your local VZW store. They are keeping it competitive with the iPhone.

I guess $300 with a 2 year deal, $350 max. The iPhone is $300 for the big one. The name of the game is stealing customers for the $90/month contract, not stealing your money upfront for the phone. $500 would seal the deal on a new touchscreen phone to the ATT team, Verizon knows the game rules. Nobody buys phones at Best Buy anymore, do they?

Did I read that right 6.99. Less than a theme. Great news.

We shall see. My motivation for the phone initially dropped when I saw the posting.
Ironically, you get get a curve anywhere from free to $49 in many cases with my carrier.

So, $699 for the storm at Best Buy... Ok, yeah, that's probably full retail... Or should I say "without contract" price...

But compare...

Sprint - BlackBerry Curve 8330 Cell Phone - Red - SP8330RIMR

That is a link to a Sprint Red Cruve at Best Buy for $799.99

How about an Alltel Curve for $679.99 -> Alltel - BlackBerry Curve 8330 Cell Phone - Black - 8330

Alltel Pearl for $629.99 -> Alltel - BlackBerry Pearl 8130 Cell Phone - Red - 8130

VZW LG Dare for $599.99 -> Verizon - LG Dare Cell Phone - Silver - VX9700

VZW Curve for $529.99 -> Verizon - BlackBerry Curve 8330 Cell Phone - Black - VZ8330RIM

So, $699.99 for the Storm from Best Buy.. It doesn't shock me in comparrison. other than maybe in a "wow, not much more than an Alltel Curve" kind of way...
