Now they've renaged on that support by not providing any new phone holders since the 9000. Given that models in the Bold, Curve and Pearl series are still being introduced, it makes no sense to the customer (especially in these "eco" times) to render the Power Station half-useless and destined for land-fill for want of a cheap bit of plastic (especially as the "spare" charger can still be used with 9700 M series batteries).
Exactly. The powerstation was freakin expensive and I initially was hesitant to get it given the price, but the functionality and *future proof* nature of the interchangeable cradles made me go for it. WTF RIM?

Agreed. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth everytime I look at my Powerstation!

Given all the fake goods made in China, I'm surprised that we didn't see a knock off version for it yet. Maybe someone will read this and help us out ;)

I hate the pod charger...everytime my cat jumps on my desk it knocks it out of the charger be. The powerstation was a much better solution and I would have sold with my 8830, had I have known I won't be able to get a cradle for the 9700.

RIM really dropped the ball!

I have 6 cats - they all jump on furniture. Seems they know better though than to jump on anything that has a charger...and I've never had a device get knocked off the charging base yet. They do however chuck their cookies all over the place every so often, but I can mop the mess up and still never get my iPOD or BB knocked out of the base.
