Have either of you tried to login as BESAdmin on your server and use the "Edit MAPI Profile" icon in the Blackberry program group?
Just curious because it sounds like the problem.

Sounds like you probably did this already.

Successfull install 4.1.3 with Exchange 2007
Recently transitioned from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. I am utilizing BES 4.1.3 on a separate server.
I followed the work provided by Ashworth (thanks Ashworth!) to introduce BES 4.1.3 into the Exchange 2007 environment. Less than 2 hours later my Exchange 2007 and BES were working perfectly (minus 15 minutes for a reading error and downloading the wrong Exchange CDO file).
Listed are the exact steps I used to introduce my BES in the Exchange 2007 environment:
1) Verify that Exchange 2007 is operational in your environment without errors. Send internal and internet e-mails for verify e-mail flow
2) On the Exchange 2007 server, perform the "Exchange Management Shell" steps. I was using the Windows Powershell for about 15 minutes until I realized my mistake!
a) "add-exchangeadministrator BESAdmin -role ViewOnlyAdmin" (without the quotes)
b) "Get-mailboxserver <your server name> | add-adpermission –user BESAdmin -accessrights GenericRead, GenericWrite -extendedrights Send-As, Receive-As, ms-Exch-Store-Admin" (without the quotes)
c) I had to manually add the BESadmin service account to the Organization Container on the Exchange Administrators tab granting "Exchange View-Only Administrator"
d) Wait for about 15 minutes for the changes to take effect
3) On the BES server, Uninstall the Exchange 2003 System Manager and reboot the BES server
4) On the BES server, Download and install the Microsoft "Exchange" MAPI CDO (ExchangeMAPICDO.exe) from Microsoft. Don't use ExchangeCDO.exe which doesn't supply the required MAPI support.
5) On the BES server, Verify that MAPI is working correctly. Use the BES "Edit MAPI Profile" and verify that the name is resolving correctly. Do this by re-entering the service account name and click "Check name"
6) Reboot the BES server and note the time (example, 10:43)
7) Wait for the BES server to settle and then send a couple of test e-mails from an Outlook client to a handheld user. Check the handheld for the e-mail
8) Send from the handheld to an Outlook user
9) Open the BLACKBERRY_MAGT_01_<Date>_0001.txt log and scroll down to the time the BES server was restarted (10:43). Look for errors such as "MAPIMailbox::CreateSearchFolder - Open Entry (0x80070005) failed)". Steps 2c-2d above resolved this error for me
10) If you use Symantec Backup Exec 11d for data protection. Download BE11d version 7170 from Symantec (you will need a agreement serial number) which will backup the Exchange 2007 mailboxes. You will need to install the ExchangeMAPICDO.exe on the Exchange 2007 server as well. The MAPI install allows for mailbox backup versus information store backup's
I did not have to anything on the BES other than unstall the Exchange 2003 System Manager, reboot, install the Exchange MAPI CDO, and verified the MAPI client was working.
Thanks again to Ashworth and others for their great work!

I don't see anyone mentioning Calendaring - that's our sticking point. We can get mail, but Calendar access doesn't work. Are any of you using it?

(Outlook 2007 -> handheld or handheld -> Outlook 2007). No issues with wireless Calendar changes such as new events, deletions, or modifications. No issues when creating, deleting, or modifing recurring events. Also, no issues with invitees. Outlook Tasks and Notes are perfect over wireless.
Do you have any errors in the BES logs immediately after performing calendar changes?

I'm stuck with the mapi error here.
This is a brand new install of exchange 2007 and bes 4.1.7
Running iemstest gives me the openmsgstore error. I've been on the phone 3 times with RIM and they are about to give up also.
Has anyone anything new on this issue?
Thanks in advance.

I finally got this working. After everything above, I created a public message store then rebooted. BES started working perfectly!

Was there anything else that has to be done on the BES to tell it the mailbox is now on the new 2007 server?

If I uninstall "Exchange System Manager" on the BES 4.1.3 server and install Microsoft "Exchange MAPI CDO (ExchangeMAPICDO.exe)" instead, will BES 4.1.3 still work for Exchange 2003 users?

I believe he means that he added public folders to a message store.

Anyone gone from Groupwise to Exchange 2007 with success? I am stuck with a MAPI error while trying to launch Blackberry Manager. RIM has basically said it is a Exchange installation issue as we didn't select support Exchange 2003 and earlier products.
Anyone know when BES for 2007 is supposed to be released?

Exchange 2007 / BES 4.1.3
This is how I resolved this issue,
Post our Installation of Exchange 2007 we had the one way Calendar sync issue using BES 4.0 ( although all the mailbox's where still on the Exchange 2000 Server )
I Installed the latest BB BES 4.1.3 with HF2
I couldnt get the MAPI to connect on the server,
I uninstalled the Exchange 2003 system manager and installed the new ExchangeMAPICDO.exe
Now here where things started getting better, when I was trying to check the MAPI connection, I kept entering the Exchange 2000 server where the BESAdmin mailbox was, but it didnt find it at all ( wouldnt underline the profile ) so I entered the new Exchange 2007 server name, fixed
OK, now I still only had one way Calendar sync, so I moved my mailbox to the Exchange 2007 server (from the Exchnage 2000 server ) , ALL FIXED
Thanks

Do I need to have a public folder database on the exchange 2007 server for bes to work? Tech support, I think was trying to blame my server install.
thanks

I believe based on TimMeade's post above that a Public Folder store is required for BES to function.
