Moby launching GPS location app as personal safety service
Please Login to Remove!
Moby is launching a beta of its GPS-based personal safety service in mid-April and seeks 250 participants to try the software and provide feedback.
Moby connects and directs your key contacts to your location in an emergency. Moby issues a series of alerts, triggered either by you or automatically, that sends an email and text from your smartphone to your chosen friends and family updating them with your safe status. The message also includes a link to a Google map with your exact location. All your alerts can be monitored by a professional security company who can dispatch your local fire, police, and ambulance services directly to your location. The software runs on your existing cell phone, so there's no need to carry an additional device.
Anyone can sign up at mymoby.com with your name, email, and phone details. 250 participants will be selected to receive the software and provide minimal comments. In exchange, all have a chance to win $1,000 in prizes.
