Default Migrate Users from BEs on seperate Forest

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I am busy developing (over next 2 weeks or so) a BES 5.0 Design document that will incorporate all aspects from architecture to Services provided. It will also include the method(s) to be used to enable new BB accounts or migrate accounts from other BES environments in other Forests (Active Directory or GroupWise).

First question:

Is the latter possible using the transporter tool or some other tool? (Migrate details from other BES in other forests onto Exchange 2007 Email domain with BES 5.0 installed).

I know soo far of a Groupwise and an Exchange environment that have their own BES and their Email accounts are scheduled to be migrated in December. At the same time they will likely expect their Blackberry's to be activated on our BES 5.0 system. I am reading the Admin guide at the moment but I'm not convined this will cover these scenarios.

Second question:
If it is not possible, or even advisable (up to 100 users on these individual BES systems), what are the alternatives and would the "users" have to wipe their handhelds to allow activation on a new Exchange organisation BES system? In my mind the process i have thought through for question 2 is as follows:

- Users mailbox account is migrated into our Exchange Organsiation
- User backups up personal information on BES (excluding calendar,Contacts etc?)
- They wipe their handheld
- they restore personal info
- I create account on BES for them and activate handheld
- all is good

Is this accurate? As I read the guide I might realise i am asking some silly questions but for now I'm willing to sound like a putz until I am able to start providing assistance on this forum too.
