Interesting Thread. My company is about to renew their contract which was for 2 yrs - Bell - 8830's - 60 phones. We may look at new phones...I would have loved a camera phone for the simplicity of instantly sending a picture/video when we are on an install, service call, or troubleshooting at a customers Shop....But somehow, I dont think this is the one after reading all of the above.

Besides what the hell am I going to do with a miniUSB Charger..?? Right now in my ride..I can charge my Tomtom, My BBerry and my H700 BT from one plug.

Gonna recommend we stick with the 8830 for now. Proven platform for BES/Lotus Notes.

I am glad to hear however that at least the phone companies are finally hearing my 6 yr old ***** about the zillion freakin chargers I have collected since 1997.!! Now if we can only get the Camera guys and all the other small electronic equip. mfgrs to voluntarily comply...that would be great.!

I would try it out, I love the Tour and have not had any problems with it. It's not PC it's a phone.

Default Treble adjust on the Tour?

Hey Irish10. Any idea how to do the treble adjust on the Tour? I tried to follow your guide below, but doesn't match up. Thanks, Ted

It is definitely a noticeable step down from the older blackberries in this aspect. The Storm has this problem as well. It's really sad as Verizon has this kickass network yet you're crippled by sh*tty hardware; I guess times are tough so RIM decided it was time to start cutting corners, unfortunately this is NEVER something you should cut corners on for something that's supposed to be a PHONE, ugh this makes me upset.

page 18 in the User Guide:
1. In the phone application, press the Menu key.
2. Click Options.
3. Click General Options
4. Change the Enhance Headset Call Audio or Enhance Handset Call Audio fields.
5. Press the Menu key.
6. Click Save

Otherwise, the device seems great, I don't have any of the other issues listed in this thread...
With regard to the trackball, I did notice the problem with my first Tour. Not an issue with replacement. Something to consider.

first blackberry with pretty good results
-no problems with call quality or battery door, maybe just got lucky there
-battery life has improved after changing some settings but its still not ideal

one problem - for some reason whenever im typing "you" or "your" or anywords involving "you" sometimes the letter "u" gets pushed to the end of the sentence so when i keep typing it looks like "what are yo doingu" for some reason. i checked the auto-correct words and that wasnt a problem but im kinda lost here.

Same here GPS working great. Check settings in advanced options to make sure your gps is set to on instead of just 911.

Yeah that does suck. That would probably be my only issue with the phone.

I just bought a Tour from Sprint. I previously had a Pearl and and then a BB 8900 both from T Mobile. So far I am pleased with my Sprint Tour, but have two complaints that may have more to do with my lack of knowledge than the phone itself:

1. The phone refuses (for me at least) to be set so that when a call comes in, whether in or out of the holster, it vibrates at least a couple of times AND rings at least 4 or 5 times. I would settle for multiple rings in or out of the holster, but it refuses.

2. Pages read through the Browser are too tiny to be readable. I can adjust on a case-by-case basis by "Zoom" or "Column view", but those fixes don't stay for the next time.

Features I like: better keyboard (for me) than on 8900, Sprint Nav.

For # 2, do this. In your browser, go to Options > General Properties > change Default View to Column instead of Page. Save. Makes a big difference.

It works ! Thank you, Daphne !

Now, in addition to number 1, still out there, here's a number 3:

On the Pearl and and 8900 you could program in the complicated set of numbers and pauses needed to get through to work voicemail. There's no obvious clue on how to do that for the Tour.

I had vzw transfer my contacts and it saved the work voice mail number including extention and pauses. And it works.

Looking at the manual I downloaded from RIM...

Adding a pause or wait to a phone number:
After typing the main part of the phone number, press Menu key.
Click Add Pause or Add Wait.
Type additional numbers.
Press menu key and save.

I don't know why everyone doesn't realize this. It is a simple $4-$5 purchase and it makes all your old USB chargers now work with micro

I don't know about you guys but when I push the right side convenience button, it takes a while before the camera application loads and even that takes a while to save images taken. It then takes a while to save each image before I can even take another one. Really annoying.

Yes. It was not issue with my first Tour but was an issue with my replacement device

I was one of the folks who had issues with the Tour, primarily very very slow. I Took it back to Verizon, they exchanged it for a new one and I'm here to tell ya.................this Tour Rocks!

Now, I love it and would highly recommend the Tour to anyone oh and now it flys like it was meant to.
