Default Missing Schedules created by me on calendar through OWA

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone,

First time poster, long time lurker...

I tried the Search engine but found nothing about my problem so here's my question:

In my organization we use Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 with OWA (Outlook Web Access) functionality and all our Android, Windows Mobile, Windows Phone 7, and iOS users have been using it without any issues whatsoever, but our Blackberry users keep complaining that when they use Outlook on the PC to schedule something on the Calendar, it does not sync back to BB but if someone else invites the user, then it shows perfectly fine on BB Calendar and Outlook Calendar.

We are trying to avoid the use of a forwarding account and simply use OWA functionality on the BB as the rest of the different platforms.

All other Outlook functions are working excellent on BB, like Contacts and Email Synchronizations.

Is this a BB bug or is there something else to do on the Server or device to make this work?

Any help will be appreciated!

Regards,
Sergio

If you've integrated your BlackBerry devices via BIS to OWA (which it sounds like you did) then you will only get wireless Email delivery to the handheld.
You won't get wireless Contacts or Calendar sync like you do with your activesync devices.

For wireless PIM sync to Exchange, you need a BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BES activation on the handhelds.

You are correct, this happens through BIS (we are not using BES at the moment) and even though Contacts are not synching (as you just clarified) Calendar syncrhonizations do occur, the problem lies only when a BB user creates a new schedule (either on the smartphone or on the PC through Outlook) but the rest of the Calendar invites do show properly to the point of one being able to accept or reject schedules.

Could this be happening because Calendar invites come in as Emails (I suppose the Email contains the schedule information?) and the Device populates the Calendar app from that info and since the originator does not receive an email, the calendar does not populate?

Thanks!
Sergio

BIS Sync is never a garenteed thing, deleted items, contacts, or even calender will never be a for sure thing everytime. only way I have seen it work most of the time is with a IMAP sep up through the BIS. hope this helps to answer your question.

That's exactly what is happening.
