I was wondering if the blackberry supports showing a different name for a contact.

Windows mobile had this extra line where you could display something else instead of first and last name (Mom instead of Jane Doe, for example). In my case, I'd rather see Mom or Dad instead of their names.

Pretty sure it does not. It pretty much displays just as does Outlook.

The thing is that Outlook has a separate line for display that either showed first, last or a custom display name of your choice

If you want it to say "Mom" then use that as the first name.
There isn't a "custom name" or "nickname" field in the blackberry contacts.
