Default Device activation not completing

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 9550 that I'm trying to activate for a user. The Activation appears to start activation properly, but then something goes sideways during the process.

on the device screen I can see:

Acrtivating [email address]
Verifying Encryption
waiting for services
services received
your email address [email address] is now enabled

That's all the device does, it doesn't download contacts, calendar, etc. The user had email on it, but could only receive, not send email.

in the BAS it shows the PIN, but not the model number. On the device, it shows all the service books being on the device, and I have tried deleting and resending them, and it does do that, but doesn't solve the problem.

I tried wiping and doing a new activation and have the same result.

Any thoughts?

9550s need a soft reset in the middle of activation to finish (sometimes they prompt for it but mostly not). It should finish if you remove/replace the battery. Also watch out as that model's OS tends to unselect the Mailbox (inbox) in folder redirection when it activates.

that did the trick, thanks. This is or first (and I pray last) 9550. I'm less than impressed with it.

I'd love for that issue of restart in activation to be dealt with in a future OS release. In our shop our users activate themselves (wirleless) and you know they don't read the instructions. This deal with the activation with the Storm2 is one of our most frequent support calls.
