The instructions are quite clear in the first post.

1. Install Desktop manager.
2. Install OS
3. Delete vendor.xml
4. connect BB to PC
5. Run Desktop Manager. It should prompt you to upgrade.

That's all there is to it. There are no more instructions to give. Are you sure the vendor.xml file is deleted?

Worked for me. As John stated, just follow the instructions.

JSanders, awesome upgrade; thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Not to be brass but the key part there is SHOULD and for us it does not. I have installed Desktop software 4.6, I am using a Sprint Curve 8320. I installed the file after downloading. It ask at the end do I want to run desktop manager to check. So I am sure I am doing it correctly, I say finish w/o checking the desktop manager, delete the vendor file. Plug in my blackberry and it connects it even looks for application updates for a second. Then nothing happens. I have uninstalled reinstalled a few times.
I even went to the website and the application loader said i was up to date, and I am still stuck on 4.3.
This seems like one of those things like when a bb contact is pending and wont go through. Unsolvable as of now huh?
Maybe user error but with directions this simple I have really tried several times before actually posting my problem.

Not to be brass either but if you have sprint you don't have an 8320. You have an 8330. You're in the wrong sticky. This OS will not work on an 8330.

All,
I tried to load new OS 4.5 using Desktop Manager 4.6 after deleting Vendor.XML , but when the loader tries to load into boot ROM, BB resetts and window does not detect the device. Finally app loader gives a message "fatal error...".
Do you know what do I need to correct this problem?

Thank you.

I got it..., i shut down the power (not full power). then every thing work fine.

))

I wound up needing a new Blackberry after playing around with 4.5. I started getting all kinds of weird inabilities to make calls. T-mobile replaced my SIM card twice, which seemed to work for about a week or so until suddenly I kept getting "Call Failed". I also couldn't send text messages when this happened (they produced a "retry count exceeded" error).

T-mobile replace my Blackberry under warranty. I've had it for a little less than a year. I had loaded a previous version of 4.5, then downgraded to 4.2, then to the Australian 4.5, then to the Rogers 4.5. Then I downgraded to 4.2 before sending it back to T-mobile.

I'm going to wait until T-mobile releases 4.5. I'll miss my HTML email until then. :(

Upgraded my T-Mo 8320 to this version. All has gone great except that after moving my icons around and moving some into newly created sub-folders, I lost the changes when I rebooted.

I haven't seen this problem mentioned. Anyone else experiencing this? Suggestions??

Its actually been mentioned many times. It seems to be a problem with the Today themes. Try a different theme. That being said, I've never had the issue so not exactly sure what causes it. Some have used theme files from older (4.5.0.18) OS's.

Thanks John for the speedy reply. I will try a different theme and see if that helps.

.81 works perfectly for me as well on my T-Mo 8320. I actually use the O2 Today theme by unlocking it in the blackberry.alx file and have never had trouble with it in the latest beta releases.

I am still trying to decide if I want to try .93 out or not, .81 has just been working so well for me.

has anyone else noticed (4.5.0.81) that in the messages that you only have 'delete' or 'cancel'. on 4.5.0.52, i had 'delete on mailbox & handheld', 'delete on handheld', and 'cancel'. what's up with that?

Check the reconciliation settings - sounds like you have it set to delete only on the handheld or the mailbox. You seem to want it to prompt you for where to delete.
