Default Totally confused - what are the differences between 8800, 8820, Curve

I have a 8700c right now and was looking into new blackberries... I was amazed about the new selections and was baffled.

I take it that the ONLY difference between 8800 and 8820 is that 8820 has the capability of wifi - right? Are there extra costs for the 8820 (or is it hackable to be free?)?

Are there any blackberries that can use 3G high speed networks? EDGE has been slow... there's gotta be a faster way.

Are there any blackberries that I'd be able to tether to my laptop for no charge (I find it ridiculous that Cingular charges that, but not sure about the new ATT...)?

Thanks!!

1. There will be no additional charges for the WiFi usage unless you are at an at&t hotspot like Denver International Airport.

2. All current CDMA BlackBerry models (8703e, 7130e, 8830) are 3G (CDMA2000 1xEVDO). However, none of these devices are compatible with at&t, and there are no models capable of operating on at&t's 3G UMTS/HSDPA network.

3. You should be able to tether any BlackBerry without charge on at&t or T-Mobile. A search of this site should find plenty of discussion about this.

AT&T charges for tethering, T-Mobile doesn't. Some users have had luck tethering with AT&T and not being charged.

There's even a handy comparison tool at Blackberry.com.

at&t is Cingular. They didn't decide to become more generous with the name change if that's what you're wondering.
