I called Garmin today before I purchased their mobile product and they informed me that the version for the 9700 was just released.

When you purchase, you will be asked to select your device. It is listed as 9700.

Since TelNav will not come out with their version, after they announced end of 2009, I decided to go with Garmin.

The Garmin Mobile product is so fast and accurate, I don't know why I wasted my money for 2 years on TelNav.

and telnav most certainly works on 9700
im on tmobile with full support. its called att navigator instead of telenav navigator on att. im pretty sure they are the same thing, are they not?

@Superh3ro: It may have worked, but an "official" 9700 version was not released until just recently.

@lovescakemix: it may work, but it is not supported. I checked with TelNav.

thats what im trying to say
telnav supports the 9700 on both att and tmobile.
its on their website.
GPS Phones supported by TeleNav GPS Navigator
and i can forward the email saying it does too if you want
you should check again.
