Default OS: 9000 4.6.0.499/4.6.0.291 (Multilanguage)

Please Login to Remove!

This will load to any carrier's 9000.

Download here: Blackberry

Software For BlackBerry® Bold (TM) 9000 smartphone

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.6.0.499 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 4.6.0.499
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.6.0.291
* Software Platform: 4.0.0.183
* File name: 9000M_PBr4.6.0_rel499_PL4.0.0.183_A4.6.0.291.exe
* File size: 95MB

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the AppLoader says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Previous OS version here: http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...rk-choice.html

Ermmm...this software isn't for the Bold. At least not the link you provided. That looks like a curve to me.

As ive been running this a few days here's what Ive noticed:
not a alot!
I was on .216, and nothing seems to have changed, battery life still the same.
Did gain 4MB's after battery pull (was 54, now 58) settles to around 52.

<sarcasm>
Maybe this firmware will magically fix everyone's 3G problems on AT&T

I am running v4.6.0.282 on my Bold, and when I tried to install this

9000M_PBr4[1].6.0_rel499_PL4.0.0.183_A4.6.0.291.exe

... with the AppLoader (and yes, I deleted the vendor.xml file), it said that it would be a downgrade, so I stopped it. What's up with that?

Mine said it would be downgrading as well.

I have v4.6.0.282 (Platform 4.0.0.235) installed.

I'll be curious to hear if this OS allows AT&T users to change from 3G/2G to 2G only.

Thats because the software platform of .291 is less than software platform .282, i dont know why is that and can only assume thats because the carrier feel more comfortable with "older" software platform.

No, I have v4.6.0.282. If the message is in error, that's ok, I will go ahead and install it.

You know, I DO have the BB messenger 5.0 installed - do you think it is being fooled by that? Probably not.

I have installed BB OS 5.0 before, but I went back to v4.6.0.282, cause Facebook wouldn't work.

I would agree with this as the reason.
I also don't quite understand why the platform is the same for that of .216 and lower than .282, but I think the platform number is what is causing the "downgrade" options for the rest of you on .282.
I would also say this probably therefore WILL NOT include the 2G/3G ATT switch.

That's a good reason not to use it - I switch to 2G when I am at my farm, in the country, because I can only get EDGE out there.

I must be doing something wrong but I keep getting an error message. Does it require logging in to T-Mobile?
