Unhappy SMS Messages

Please Login to Remove!

I want to send the same SMS message to 16 people. But I do NOT want any of them to see the others are receiving it. How do I send it to multiple recipients without the others seeing this in the text? On my old Samsung Blast (A MUUUUCH INFERIOR phone) I could compose an SMS, then select a ton of recipients from the phone book by just checking their names. It would send, and show up as an individual text message for each user. They had no idea anyone else was getting it too. But with my BB, it makes the process uber complicated, I compose an SMS, then hit BB Button, Add Recipient, then have to spell part of each persons name, and then add them individually. Then repeat this process for every person. It could take 15 minutes to send each multi-recipient text. AND, Ever person who gets it sees all the other people you sent it to. I am so frustrated. Is my highly capable BB unable to send a message to multiple people without a great deal of hoop jumping?

Really, I have a Curve. When I go to look at the text after, it shows all the people I sent it to, similar to an email list. Also, is there a way to just setup a distribution list so I can just add those people to it and send to the list, saving tons of time in the future?

You can set up a distro list in your e-mail contacts list on your PC and sync your BlackBerry Contacts. It will follow to your device.

From your BlackBerry go into you address book, click the menu button and select New Group. Name the group as to what you would like, then add the contacts you want to that group.

When you send your text, make the recipient that group. The other contacts will not see who you sent the message to doing it this way or the other way. The reason you can see it is so YOU know who the message went to.

Yep, that's exactly how it should work.

Let me understand cause I'm reading and reading and cannot clear things.. You are syaing that you type an SMS and select multiple receipients and your recipient when receives the text actually SEEs the other people the same SMS was sent? Is that right?

Since when can the recipient do that?

No, that is NOT correct.

If I send an SMS to you, my brother, my mother, my sister, my cousin Cornelius, and Santa Clause, you will only see that it went to you. You will NOT see any other recipients that received the message.

Maybe the OP was just looking for clarification.
