No idea. Maybe no carriers want to update to that version? Weird.

I have it on my 8830 and love it. It may not be official, but it works, I have been running it since labor day and I havn't had one problem.

No problems with 4.5.077 on my 8830 as well, probably the best, most stable OS I've used on the 8830 so far.

The beta is stable but I agree it does seem odd that no official release has been made available to us.

I've just found OS 4.5.0.77 and I want to install it on my Sprint 8830...
Do I follow the same procedures to installing it as in the 8800 and 8820 by deleting the vendor.xml?

Thanks for the help!

For those who purchased (like me) empower pro - is it still needed with the new os; will it work; or is it a dinosaur now?

I've had 4.5 on my 8830 for months (as have MANY others). Not really sure if this is a joke or not.

Some carriers like Verizon have not released the new 4.5 OS for the 8830 yet. I'm not even sure that 4.5.0.77 is a final release from RIM.

After several weeks of use, none that I've seen.

There are a few minor issues like profiles not being editable if you do not restore the profiles database from your previous OS when upgrading and some weirdness with text input boxes in the browser. Also the media player has caused a reboot while trying to stream video a few times...

Other than that, 4.5.0.77 is a very nice upgrade over 4.2. It will be even better when the official release is out and the minor issues sorted out.

For me, it's far worse than 4.2.

I love the new 4.5 OS. The 77 build is solid! I been running it for weeks now and I really like it.

so far as i can tell, 4.5.0.77 offers HTML email, although the pictures have to be downloaded manually every time (correct me if i am wrong), i.e. empower pro does not override this "feature" of 4.5. the color coordination of the replies, signature lines, etc. still seem to work though.

i wrote to empowerpro asking if they are working on solution that will work with 4.5, no reply yet.
