Has anyone noticed about a 5 second delay from the time the ringing stops and the voicemail message comes on??? If so, what to do?

thanks

On the plus side, if you log on to your account on their website (where you can also look at all of your messages) and mark a message as "read" it removes it from the voicemail system. To save time, I find it much faster to go online every so often and mark all the voicemails as "read" than to dial in to my voicemail and delete each one individually.

I hope their plan is to fix this with the final release.
Does anyone know what "Erase Mailbox?" under SimulSays Voicemail Options actually does? If I check it and then save my changes, it's unchecked when I go back in. I'm guessing it does nothing at this point (maybe it will cause Delete to delete on the phone *and* in the mailbox in the future) but I thought maybe someone who's used it a bit longer than I have might have some insight.

Edit: For anyone who's curious, even though it's not listed as a supported device, this works on my 7130c running OS 4.2.

I too have experimented with this options setting, and it doesn't appear to do anything.

I have a very old FAQ dating back to 2004....
I've been using Visual Voicemail since 2004!

Voice-To-Text Voicemail services

I have added SimulSays to this now.
Good to know that more and more services keep popping up -- Apple is helping this market by allowing these vendors to market it more like a "Visual Voicemail" product that can be used with any phone!

I (and a couple people who called me) did notice a weird delay the last couple of days. I don't know if the issue was with T-Mobile or with SimulSays. In any event, it went away today, and calls are going to my voicemail normally.

Are you still having the issue?

not sure though, since beyond411 site is down it might not be an issue.

When testing it, it worked fine with no delay a few times, then it started to do it again. It was actually more like 10 second delay. A few of my friends did not leave messages because of it.

hmm, I also noticed that opera mini isn't able to connect at all now :(

edit: I gave up.. its a neat program, but I'd rather have everything else working right, and it drained my battery in one day.

I cannot for the dear life of me load opera mini on my phone. I tried every freakin thing to no avail. It must be a conflict.

If someone is with T-Mobile and have both programs running, please let me know what can be done to fix the problem. I get errors, "cannot connect to internet" However, I am able to get on with BB browser with no problem. And yes I have, wap.voicestream.com entered under TCP in the advanced options.

Thanks

I just started using it this week. I am amazed by the level of capability of the transcription service most of the time (and sometimes just amused).

The only item I lose compared to my previous services is that it doesn't pick up the caller name data. This is useful when business' are calling because often the caller id data is the switchboard number and isn't in my contacts list but does come through from the caller name data. It is something Callwave does for example.

The weak link right now is the client, it shows great potential but I think I have a lot of bad connectivity and it doesn't recover well. If they can sort that out (without killing the battery life) it is a killer application for me. I also suggested that they should show the amber/red led state on the application icon like the new mail indicator so it would be more obvious.

Also, I want to say that I sent feedback to them and got immediate responses and a followup so there is no doubt they are on top of this beta and actively involved in improvements

So far, all works well on my pearl. I have both opera mini and mini beta installed with no issues

the only problem i faced is that when you click on a message to listen to, the tracball cliking audible roll feature seems to go away and then it comes back after a while. very weird.

as others commented, deleting the msgs from within the app does not delete them in the VM system

Also, a tip is that you can type #004# to temporarily disable the service and switch back to your default VM serivce and then *004# to go back to SimulSays VM.

this is a GMS feature and this is why it works on T-Mobile and ATT/CING but not on verizon

[No Scientific Testing Took Place]

As I have the transcription service already, I've disabled SimulSays - so that it does not chew through the battery life.

[/No Scientific Testing Took Place]

When I am not satisfied with the transcription and I wish to hear the message, I go into SimulSays, activate it, wait for the data to download, and listen to the original message.

ok room, i am trying to get this SimulSays thing and im registered and everything but im still for the second day trying to access the mobile website to set everything up and sign in or whatever and this is exactly what i get when trying to do so.....

HTTP Error 503: Service Unavailable

The server is currently unable to handle your request due to a temporary overloding or maintenance of the server.

Now mind you ive been trying this for 2 days and just for the heck of it i tried the mobile.simulsays.com address from the computer itself and it worked perfect, so any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!!

i had a similar problem. Just go to the site on your pc, copy the link (2nd or 3rd) for the jad file corresponding to your service T-Mobile or Cing and then send the link to your cell via email or sms from your pc. open the link in the BB browser and install the app.

hope that helps
