I'm a very tech person and I want one. Sometimes I want something that does what I want it to do and not have to wrestle with a million settings like your typical Microsuck product that tries to be everything to everyone and sucks at it. And the "no business user will touch it" is the same anti Apple snobbery that I've seen in this forum time and time again with the iphone. Get over yourself please. Business users DO use Apple products and they will use this if it offers them what they need.

When someone says that business users do not use Apple products you lose all credibility.

I'm a pretty techy person and I want one as well. It will be a good product for those that want it.

You can't synch your iPod or iPhone with the iPad. WUWT? Biz users will get the Macbook. It's thin and cool and beats the iPad all over town. The iPad is a toy IMO.

I've heard of it but that's about it. My Apple gear consists of an iPod and an iTouch. No iPhone for me because ATT sux where I live. Otherwise I'd consider it.

Last I checked, the iPhone is one of the most successful products ever put to market.

I suspect the iPad will follow suit with typical Apple cycle of release:
Rumor --> Hype --> Announcement --> Disappointment --> Bashing --> Acceptance --> Success --> PROFIT.
Win.

It doesn't take a review to determine that lack of important features is bad. If i were to get an iPad, it would only be if it had more features than an ipod touch (usb ports, bluetooth, etc.) Just sayin'.

Knowing Apple, however, they did this on purpose just to have room to improve for years to come. It's all about marketing, afterall.

How are you able to determine what the iPad is capable of? Are saying you have absolute proof of what features are in the iPad, and what features are missing? Additionally, your determination of what is important is what everyone else should consider important?

Right. As has been said before, it's pointless to determine that the iPad is the next best thing or the worst thing ever when it isn't even released yet.

Please read my post again, and the original thread. We already know a lot of things it cant do. No, i never said i know exactly what is on the iPad, just what isn't on it. I also never said that what I think is important is what everyone thinks is important. I said very clearly that if I were to get it, it would only be if it had the features i need, which are not on the ipad.

Please, act like adults. I thought flaming wasn't tolerated on this forum...

I promised myself I wouldn't post on this topic, I really did. But what the h*ll. If the iPad meets Apple's internal sales metrics after GA (whatever those metrics are), it's a success. If it doesn't meet their sales/revenue goals it's a failure.

End of story.....

It's called a debate. Unless there are personal attacks, then it turns to flaming. Good questions are being asked so either party can say why they view what they do.

It happens on forums all the time

A healthy debate never hurt anyone. plus each one has the freedom to express their opinion. provided there are no personal attacks. Which have zero tolerance.

A bit of information on cost to make, etc. Since I am an EE I get all kinds of information like this.

I agree. The first version of the pad is useless, but knowing Apple they will improve it as time goes on and prices drop. While I'm a tech toy junkie I don't plan to jump on this one.
