Default Storm Camera; there are 2 images

Well the camera on the Storm is good for macro work, like copying documents but useless to take good pics of your children, scenery etc. While having some spare time I started taking pics of a water fountain streaming and noticed that IMMEDIATELY after the shutter is activated there is a very high resolution picture that shows water droplets in a stream but in 1/5th of a second it is replaced with a lower quality image that is permanent. Settings are maxed out for highest quality but I have never been able to exceed 500 kb file sizes either on the camera or the transfered file on the PC. Two friends have given up on the camera as well so it seems a common problem. Whites are very over-exposed and placing a 50% neutral density filter in front of the lens helps. My 2 Mpixel SE takes amazing shots close and far. Anyone know if BB is going to work on the software for this phone?

Did you turn image stabilization off? That had a big effect for me. But generally yeah, the camera is a pile of. The most frustrating thing is that for a mobile camera you want to be able to quickly pick it up to take a snap. It's anywhere between 10 and 15 seconds for my camera to appear at times.

Wow 10 to 15? I hit my side button and my pops up right away. From camera launch to taking picture it’s about 5 seconds. I wish it was a little faster. Sometimes my camera can be slow. But if I close it and reopen it goes back to normal. It takes great close up pictures. Maybe the 141 software you are on has problems?

Upgrade the software and play with the settings.
The results are worth it.

It's just that you recommended he play with the settings to get good results that are worth it.

Personally I think the camera is far and away the worst of any on any smartphone I have used. It's slow and poor quality.
