Default Soft Reset v Quickpull and more battery life.

Please Login to Remove!

I have been reasonably vocal on the subject of battery life. The following things changed in my usage recently and the battery life has dramatically improved. I recently got rid of StormSlider and switched from using Soft Reset to QuickPull. Suddenly I got almost 48 hours of standby and medium usage as opposed to 8 hours if that. I wish I could pinpoint it more for you, but maybe it might help someone / point someone in the right direction.

Ya, I agree; I'm very happy with Quickpull too, just don't try to set it to schedule a regular reset, seems to cause problems.

It is an app the simulates a battery pull without physically removing the battery.

I've used quickpull and have noticed issues with the scheduled setting. I've deleted it but may re-install if you've had luck with just using it as you go. I've never even tried it without the scheduled restart. Thanks for the tip.

Those programs are cool but maybe I'm just old fashion...it's just as easy for me to remove the cover and pull the battery physically lol

Wow! I wouldn't expect Soft Reset to drain the battery, but it's worth a try for QuickPull. I've had Soft Reset installed since I got my Pearl almost two years ago.

You think thats just as easy as clicking on an icon?

Lets see:

1) Click on an icon, confirm

or

2) Fiddle with cover, click it opne, place in safe place, fiddle with battery and remove, keeping cleand and dry, checking SIM does not dislodge, replacing, getting cover, correctly reseating cover, turning on.

Hmm. Wouldn't be for me. But maybe thats me being all new and fangled :-,

True it's faster...and it's been awhile since I've used a program like this but when they first came out with the prior BB's (OS 4.2 & 4.5) they never really gained the same amount of memory as actually physically pulling the battery
