Default 8703e and Bell vs Telus

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone used the 8703e on Bell Mobility and Telus? What are the service differences? I'm currently with Bell and am debating switching to Telus for the improved network. Is there really a difference? Thx.

I'm not aware of a significant difference. In many parts of Ontario Telus Mobility and Bell Mobility share network infrastructure. In Waterloo the coverage appears to be very very close if not identical.

As Mark mentioned, Telus/Bell use, to a very large extent, the same infrastructure so I'd be surprised if you could find any differences in service availability between the two. Now, IMHO, in terms of customer service there is no comparison with Bell coming in a distant 3rd to Telus. I dunno who's in 2nd... Tin Can & Rope Inc?

Telus does run their own iDEN network independent of Bell but this is irrelevant with the 8703.

I could be mistaken but I think Telus has started to open up ports to allow for third party apps without BES. Bell still locks down said ports.

Unless something has changed I found the oppposite especially with tethering. Bell allows 1723 (PPTP VPN) while tethering whereas Bell allows it.
