8700 Image Uploading
Please Login to Remove!
I am currently running 4.2 software on my 8700, so I am able to use media Manager, but every time I upload pics to my berry i have to set the perfect Rez and size so it can look sharp and clear on my berry, it gets really annoying. Is there maybe a small program that automatically resizes the pic for me so I can upload with no problems?
Thanks

Something made just for the BB???
I don't think so.. You are going to be stuck with resizing them...

You used the Media Manager to upload pictures to your 8700??? It is new to me. I thought the media manager would only work with the BB OS 4.2+.

Yea I was thinking if there was a small program made, just for the berry to upload images, but I guess not since 4.2 insnt even available for the 8700, so no one really experimented with the Meda Manger for the 8700. Well If you guys know any random program or anything that allows me to change my pictures resoultion please post the link or name thnx.

There's Microsoft's Image Resizer Powertoy for XP, which lets you right-click on an image (or group of images) and resize to a custom size.
If you want something a bit more batch-oriented, there's ImageMagick for Windows; it's a command line tool for image manipulation. Does a lot more than resize, if you want, but can be pretty hard to use if you're not familiar with the Windows command line.
Neither program is specific to the BlackBerry or Desktop Manager; the images would have to be resized prior to uploading.

Thanks alot for the suggestion, I just tried the PowerToys Xp, and its a nifty program, only thing is it does not give you enough advanced settings to customize your image reZ, because the blackberry 8700, uses this screen rez 645 x 485 or 646 x 486. This will give you a clean crisp image, and fits the whole screen, and I got fed up looking for programs, so Im using PhotoShop which allows you to customize the picture instantly. Thats that.
Thanks for the help again.

Never mind lol, the Powertoys Xp program works just fine, after installing the program all you do is right click choose Resize pic, and set to 640 x 480. Upload to BB and thats all perfect Rez. Woohoo
Thanks alot

I'm not sure why you are using Roxio Media manager to upload pictures to your BB. All you need to do is download the latest version of the 8700 Desktop Software from the Blackberry.com website install it then run it with the BB connected, then simply click on Media Manager in the window and you will be able to upload anything, by going into the Device Memory Folder Also to answer your question about bluetooth, yes you can use this option to send n Receive images/ringtones/mp3's...

FAQ site has all that. Sure does.
Keep ringtones under 512kb. You never need a ringtone longer than 30 seconds anyway, since time to voicemail on most carriers is only 15 seconds by default, and 30 seconds at the longest. All covered in the FAQ, look in the Audio section.
